We are looking to appoint an inspiring teacher of English who also has experience. Hillview High School is at a very exciting stage in its history, growing from Y7 through to Y11 in recent years. This post requires an enthusiastic, hardworking, conscientious and energetic individual with a strong track record. You will provide high quality teaching that facilitates and encourages a learning experience that gives students the opportunity to achieve their individual potential. You will join a small English team to allow us to continue expanding our offer so that our IGCSE English groups can be streamed. You will also teach an IGCSE English Literature option. 

Knowledge of the British National Curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4 and the Cambridge Curriculum (Key Stages 3-5) would be an advantage.

Successful applicants will have: 

  • A B.Ed or degree and PGCE or equivalent  
  • Proven experience of teaching English to IGCSE
  • Experience of post-16 teaching
  • The ability to share outstanding practice and develop other colleagues  
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom  
  • Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents
